If you'd like someone to find your post and give you more details about your relative, I highly recommend you post more details about him or any other ancestors you have from Alsace or nearby.

George Schmidt is about as common as George Smith.

And you don't have any detailsa bout when he was born or died or the people who came after him.

Who were his children or grand children? Start wherever you can with what info you have.
