I have been working on my father's geneology and have hit a roadbock when I got to France. I am hoping someone can help me find birth, baptism, marriage records, or any other information. Here is what I know.
Two families emigrated to the United States in 1847. They departed from Le Havre on the ship Leonidas. Brothers Joseph and Francois Fagot and their families arrived in New Orleans on 13 Jun 1847.
The following individuals who made this journey were all born in Alsace-Lorraine, France.
Joseph Fagot(b.1806), wife Barbara (Tunna/Thuna/Thunnat???)(b.1805) and children: Prosper Claude(b.1836), Peter John (Jean)(b.1839), Marie Anne(b.1842), Francois(b.1844), Christina Marie(b.1847)
Francois Fagot(b.1818), wife Catherine(b.1819) and children: Jeanne(b.1838), Jacque(b.1839), Mathias(b.1841), Francois(b.1845)
Joseph was a weaver. They were catholic. They identified themselves as from Alsace Lorraine, France.
