My great grandfather,

I am trying to find out about my great grandfather, Christian Faupel who I believe came to England from the Alsace region . I think he was born about 1865-75. His father was a physician. I am intending to come to Alsace Lorraine this summer, and would love to find where the family came from .

Where in Alsace did your relative come from?

Hi Jonathan,

If you want to find out more about your ancestor, you will need to know more information about him.

Especially a better idea of where in Alsace he came from.

Tbis is very important to finding more info.

Otherwise you are dealing with a needle in a haystack situation.

In French or German.

It's already not fun in English ;)

So start digging back home into any records or family documents or stories that will give you some idea of where.

Otherwise, you will need to spend years looking through every record hoping to find something.
