I have decent information on my great grandmother's side; however, I cannot seem to find anything on Michael Schmidt's tree. He was married to Margaretha Muehlheim and lived in Ashland, OH.

Are you sure he's from Alsace?

What makes you think he is?

Did they marry in the US or before they came to the US?

If you know where your great grandmother is from and they met before they emigrated to the US, that's likely a big clue to where your great grandfather is from too.

Michael Schmidt is a very common name by the way.

Like Michael Smith.

You may be able to use the info from your great grandmother to help you find clues for your grandfather. Fingers crossed that you can.
