Luther family of Strasbourg

by R. Hofmann
(Dublin, Ohio, USA)

I would like to know if anyone has documents of births, marriages, deaths of the Luther family prior to 1800 in Strasbourg.

I am interested in the ancestors of the Luthers who emigrated from Alsace ca. 1756 and settled in Maryland and Randolph County, North Carolina. These would be descendents of Albrecht Luther.

Thank you, R. Hofmann

Something you can do yourself
by: Suzele

Hi R Hofmann,

If you are up for it, you could look in the digital records yourself.

Knowing which town or village your ancestors come from is the hardest part of the job.

So you have that!

You'll need to look through church records.

There's a chance that parts of the records will be missing because of a big fire (and lots of bombing) in Strasbourg in 1870.

But not all of Strasbourg's records were destroyed. Just some of them.

Good luck with your searching,
Suzele
