Great Great Grandfather from Schirmeck

My two times great grandfather was born in Schirmeck on 12/13/1881. His name is Ernest Violet and he departed from Le Havre, France on 06/18/1903 on ship La Gascogne with his wife Josephine Hatterer. I am unable to find the name of his father and I believe he was Jewish. I’d love any assistance with finding more information about my ancestors in Schirmeck or gaining French citizenship and reclaiming my Alsatian heritage.
