Hello!
We are traveling to Strasbourg in October 2025 and would like to visit the village of Schoenenbourg which is the ancestral home of my relatives. From my research, I think that all of the descendents of my Great-great grandfather, Etienne Einhorn, who was born and died in Schoenenbourg, emigrated to the U.S. in the 1880s. My daughter and I actually visited Schoenenbourg in 2008, but we weren't able to speak with anyone easily and were unsuccessful in finding any records, etc. We were told that the church was burned with all its records, so I don't know if any exist. Etienne's father, Christian Einhorn, also born in Schoenenbourg, moved to Besancon and married Pierrette Adelaide Rigonaux in 1789, then moved back to Schoenenbourg and had Etienne there on Sept 4, 1791. I am curious to learn more about Pierrette but can't seem to find any records about her family. I'm wondering if they moved back as a result of the changes going on due to the French Revolution.
Thank you,
Michelle
