How to Get to Riquewihr without a Car

by Jessica
(Switzerland)

Hi Suzele,

Thank you so much for all of your suggestions. We are interested in staying at a nice hotel in Riquewihr...they said there is a bus from Colmar to Riquewihr, but don't know the schedule.

Are there bus schedules online? I already tried calling the tourism office, but they were not helpful.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Taking the Train or Bus in Alsace
by: Suzele

Hi Jessica,

That's a very good question...

There is a site where you can get information about all transportation in Alsace in English or French.

http://www.vialsace.eu

And yes, there is a bus that will take you from the train station in Colmar to Riquewihr.

In fact there are buses that will take you from most of the larger towns and cities in Alsace to the smaller villages in Alsace with no rail service.

But before you go off planning your trip to Alsace without a car, you might want to read Taking the Bus in Alsace.

The trains in Alsace run pretty regularly but not all the time and the buses (especially to the very small villages) run even less often than the trains.

And sometimes it's just not worth the trouble...but of course it's different for everyone.

Enjoy your trip to Alsace!
