Ramsperger family

by Carolyn
(PA USA)

The Ramsperger family are said to be from Egesheim, Germany, and in 1800s were masonry artists who moved to Switzerland to work on local church buildings.

One of the family food traditions handed down is keep flew, an Alsatian staple, we have learned. Can you help? Josef Ramsperger was born 4/1/1882 in St Gallen, Switzerland. We are interested in pursuing ANY leads. Where can we look? Thanks

Looking for family outside of Alsace
by: Suzele

Hi Carolyn,

I can't help you very much with Germany and Switzerland as I don't do much research there.

The Keep Flew dish you are talking about sounds very mispelled. There are a number of dishes that it could be.

Kipferle or Kepferli is a cookie. And there are quite a few other foods that begin with K and vary a bit according to the dialect spoken in different areas.

I live in Southern Alsace and am more familiar with the dialects there.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful,
Suzele
