Where in Alsace?
by: Suzele

Hi Cigdem,

You forgot to mention where in Alsace you are (or will be later tonight)...

Personally I consider most of the wine road to be very romantic in general (but that's just my opinion).

It's just something about it all that is very romantic. The tiny villages...the rolling hills of vineyards...

I consider "romance" to be more of a state of mind that you can take anywhere with you.

A picnic on a hill above a village surrounded by vineyards for me would be a fantastic experience. All you need is an interesting bottle of wine and some cheese, bread, and fresh foods from the grocery store.

Or maybe you prefer what the French call a "restaurant gastronomique" serving extremely skillfully prepared foods in an unusual and creative way.

Or some adorable little Alsatian restaurant with an outside terrace where you can eat under the stars...

Take your pick...

The difficulty in picking restaurants in Alsace (or wine or villages for that matter) is that there are SO many good ones.

Which is part of the fun...going exploring...trying one winery to see how their grapes express the "terroir" or land that it's grown on...

Trying a restaurant because the menu looks interesting.

Exploring a village just to find out what's there...

Here are a few recommendations that have already been given on GetAlsaced.com
