One Night in Alsace

by Didn't Say Who I Am
(Geneva)

I live in Geneva and would really love to take my (French) boyfriend to Alsace.

Unfortunately because of work we could only go on a Saturday and stay one night. We could drive, if it's best?

Do you have any recommendations of the best way to get a good flavour of the wine route, where would be a good place to stay and a really good restaurant in the area?

Hopefully you can help :)

One Night in Alsace
by: Suzele

There is no ONE THING that is better than everything else in Alsace. I'm sorry, but if you want to experience Alsace, you're probably going to have to come back for a few more nights (and days)... ; )

95% of it is fantastic (that goes for the wine, the villages and the food).

Unless you have a specific interest such as castles, World War One, World War Two, etc... you will enjoy most everything in Alsace.

For hotels, I'm still working on it...this is what I have for now...

Find a Hotel in Alsace

I suspect I'll have them all up by the end of the year (there are 100s of accommodation choices in Alsace, so it will take some time)...

Here are some pages on GetAlsaced.com that will help you narrow down which villages to visit...

What to Do in Alsace

Touristy Alsace

For restaurants, I can't recommend the Michelen Guide enough. It's my bible for restaurants when I don't know the area.

I also read the menus posted outside of restaurants a lot. An creative menu is a sign of a skilled chef (in my opinion).

I'm working as hard as I can to get it all on the website for you! There are 15 new pages from August alone!

Research takes time...(but it's fun!)

Enjoy your weekend (and remember to come back and tell us all about it!)
