Off the Beaten Path Non Touristy Villages in Alsace

by Joyce
(Toronto, Canada)

I was looking to visit a charming Alsace village that doesn't look like it's all touristy and freshly painted like Colmar, Eguisheim etc. One that isn't in a flat area...something like Equisheim but just not touristy...

Do you have any recommendations, something accessible by public transportation, off the beaten path?

Non Touristy Alsace Villages
by: Suzele

Hi Joyce,

A lot of people like Eguisheim of course and for good reason. It's not one of the most crowded villages by a long shot, although it is slowly becoming one unfortunately.

If you are looking for a completely normal not touristy village, then any other village not on the wine road will do. They are just normal villages in Alsace.

And I would love the opportunity to show you Alsace myself. I can use my years of living here to create something special just for you...

I'm also working on an extensive list of interesting villages with hotel and other accommodation recommendations here...

And you'll find an Alsace map here with a short description of what's interesting about at least 70 different villages or sites.

And you can look in the Villages Accessible by Train page for interesting villages that have train stations in Alsace.

And if all of this sounds like too much work or you just don't have the time...

I'd love to create an Alsace travel itinerary just for you based on your interests and preferences.

Hope that helps,

Suzele
