Off the Beaten Path Non Touristy Villages in Alsace

I was looking to visit a charming Alsace village that doesn't look like it's all touristy and freshly painted like Colmar, Eguisheim etc. One that isn't in a flat area...something like Equisheim but just not touristy...

Do you have any recommendations, something accessible by public transportation, off the beaten path?

Non Touristy Alsace Villages
by: Suzele

Hi Joyce,

A lot of people like Eguisheim and Colmar of course, but you're right, they are becoming very touristy unfortunately.

If you are looking for a completely normal not touristy village or town, have a look at my guide books.

Even the one for Strasbourg includes non touristy areas and villages that are not as well known (and therefore more natural).

I understand that some people like tourist traps and some people don't, so I always try to include something for everyone both on the site and in my products and services.

North of Strasbourg is an especially non touristy area with both flat and hilly (even mountainous) areas.

Very scenic and you'll even find vineyards.

There are trains of course, but not to every village, but most of the interesting sites do have a train stop (more than the wine road).

Hope that helps,
Suzele
