Family History of the Lehmans

I have recently started looking for family from "Germany"... I have discovered that indeed they were from France. Is there any place you can direct me to find birth records for a David Lehman, born in Sep 1850 in Alsace, Lorraine, France.

He migrated to America in 1867. His wife was also from this region. Her name was Catherine Barthelme. I'm looking for birth records and parents of these two.

Can you be more precise?

Hi Johnny,

Unfortunately Alsace and Lorraine are full of villages and you would have to look through the village records of every one of them until you found who you are looking for.

Same goes for me when I do research for people. It involves a lot of digging through records, unless you know more about where.

And if you're lucky enough to find them, you still have to read the records which is often very difficult.
